JLo just threw us a style curveball in new cottagecore look

Jennifer Lopez is one of the biggest celebrity style icons to emerge from recent decades, and it's not hard to see why. She made a name for herself in the fashion arena with her high glam, sexy, body-skimming looks. (Think: rhinestones, cut out bodysuits, Jenny from the Block style, and glittering red carpet looks. Not to mention all of her most naked moments.)
But what we *never* expected from JLo is...the cottagecore look? (IE, the romantic TikTok trend that popularised tea dresses, cosy knitwear, florals, and ultra-femme touches like ruffles and bows.) The star threw us all a style curveball last night when she posted herself dressed like the trend in a pink gingham dress. She's looking cute AF, but still, this is quite the style departure for Jen.
If JLo's fashion was a spectrum, and a bodycon mini was on one end, then this flowing long dress is on the literal opposite end. It's pink! It's preppy! It's...a scalloped gingham tea dress. Maybe her recent Georgia wedding to Ben Affleck has influenced her style lately? As someone who grew up there and can confirm, the Southern region of America often favours a more reserved, traditional style of clothing, and with her time spent there lately, maybe she's been inspired to enter a new era?
