Here's the recipe.

Between the beautiful decor, nostalgic movies, Christmas carols, and time with family, it’s too difficult to pick just one thing we love about the holiday season. But, as certified foodies, there is always an easy way to put a smile on our faces: offer us the holiday menu.

We all have that one holiday food that makes an appearance every December. Maybe it’s your favorite eggnog, your dad’s famous appetizer, or your grandma’s simple cake. Whatever it is, your holiday wouldn’t be the same without it. And, because we all know celebrities are “just like us,” it’s no surprise that they have those favorite foods, too.

Jimmy Fallon & Cher's Favorite Frozen Hot Chocolate

On a recent episode of “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” Jimmy Fallon and Cher were gushing about the New York City establishment that serves their favorite frozen treat. And, even though you likely associate the holiday season with warm and cozy foods and drinks by the fire, we promise this one is worth braving the cold for.

When in New York, Cher says she always visits Serendipity3 to get the famous Frrrozen Hot Chocolate, which Fallon agrees is one of the best restaurants.

“It’s one of my favorite spots in the city, but you can’t get in,” Fallon says. “Obviously, you can get in. You’re Cher.”

“I can get in,” Cher responds. “I’ve been going there since I was 19. I can get in because I’ve got seniority.”

Serendipity3

What’s so special about the frozen hot chocolate that has tourists, locals, and even celebs waiting hours in line?

Serendipity3’s Frrrozen Hot Chocolate is made with a blend of 14 exotic cocoas and comes in multiple flavors—but the original is the most popular. The NYC restaurant has been selling the treat for 69 years and has served more than 30 million cocoas—Fallon and Cher actually shared the 30 millionth Frrrozen Hot Chocolate on the show.

Cher and Fallon aren’t the only celebs who have fallen in love with the treat over the years. Jackie Kennedy asked if Serendiptiy3 would share the secret recipe with the White House so she could serve it there—but the First Lady was denied the request. Marilyn Monroe, Andy Warhol, and Joan Rivers famously enjoyed the drink as well—and it’s even one of Oprah’s favorite things.

However, if you can’t make it to Manhattan’s Upper East Side (especially during the hectic holiday season), that’s okay! There are still a few ways you can enjoy Cher and Jimmy Fallon’s favorite treat.

Serendipity3 sells its hot chocolate mix on Goldbelly and QVC for delivery straight to your home. Or, you can always recreate it at home without the mix.

Sure, the restaurant wouldn’t even share its official recipe with the White House, but you can get pretty close with this frozen hot chocolate recipe.

Our recipe doctors up a packet of your favorite instant hot chocolate mix with sugar, chocolate chips, butter, vanilla extract, and evaporated milk. The evaporated milk is the key since Serendipity3 recommends using homogenized milk to achieve a rich and creamy consistency.

It might not be the same thing as sharing a frozen treat with Cher, but enjoying it with your friends and family this holiday season is just as priceless.
