Former first lady Rosalynn Carter is celebrating her 96th birthday with her 98-year-old husband and former president Jimmy Carter in a simple and sweet gathering.

A spokesperson for the Carters told People that Rosalynn will celebrate at the couple's Plains, Georgia home with cupcakes and peanut butter ice cream. The activist is also set to commemorate her big day by releasing butterflies into her garden.

In a social media post, the Rosalynn Carter Institute for Caregivers shared that in honor of Rosalynn's birthday, in commemoration of her advocacy for caregivers, there will be a screening of Richard Lui's documentary Unconditional, with the documentarian in attendance. The special showing will be open to the public at Plains High School, starting at 6:30 p.m.

Additionally, the social media accounts for the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library announced that "in celebration of Rosalynn Carter's birthday, today's museum admission is 96 cents."
