Jim Carrey wants you to delete your Facebook -- and he has a pretty convicing argument.

Carrey, 56, took to Twitter to voice his dissent against the social media giant and its founder, Mark Zuckerberg. It immediately went viral, racking up more than 15,000 retweets,

"I'm dumping my Facebook stock and deleting my page because Facebook profited from Russian interference in our elections and they're still not doing enough to stop it," Carrey wrote alongside an illustration of Mark Zuckerberg and a thumbs-down sign.

He added, "I encourage all other investors who care about our future to do the same. #unfriendfacebook"

Facebook has faced intense scrutiny as it became increasingly apparent that Russia used its platform to spread its political agenda. Even with Russia aside, Facebook has struggled to filter false stories masked as legitimate news. The partially or entirely untrue content is able to quickly go viral on the site and reach millions of eyes.

Carrey one of the first out of Hollywood to take a hard-line stance against the site.
