But because it's Twitter, the tights have caused some controversy. Some folks on Twitter reminded us of the time Barack Obama wore a tan suit , and he was criticized for not taking his role seriously.

Seriously, Twitter loves to defend a fashion moment:

But let's all just take time to appreciate this look, and these platform boots:

Michelle Obama has also been known to embrace a cute patterned-tights look. This is her at the Building a Healthier Future summit in 2011:

While on her California trip last week, Biden played an April Fools prank on the members of the media who joined her on her flight back to Washington by dressing up as a flight attendant.

Per NBC, she wore a short black wig and a name tag with the name "Jasmine" on it. She managed to fool some members of the media and apparently she also tricked some of her own staff.

FLOTUS might have taken notes from Barbara Bush, who reportedly played a wig-centered prank on April Fools in 1989. UPI reports that she wore a "strawberry blonde wig" to the white tie Gridiron dinner that year as a joke.

Anna Perez, a press secretary for Bush, told press at the time that the first lady was was "poking fun at all the attention paid to her looks."

And to think...Twitter didn't even exist then.
