Jill Biden Does Purple Power Dressing for Nickelodeon and Attn:’s ‘Well Versed’ Debut

First Lady Jill Biden donned a purple Theory pantsuit to attend the debut of Nickelodeon and Attn:’s “Well Versed” educational television show in Philadelphia on Friday.
Biden, who holds a doctorate in education, accessorized with purple suede pointy-toe pumps, a gold heart pendant necklace and a gold lapel brooch with pearl accent.

“Well Versed” is hailed as a modern version of “Schoolhouse Rock.” The latter program, which debuted in 1973, focused on school subjects, including grammar, science, history, mathematics and civics. “Well Versed” is putting a heavy emphasis on civics in the wake of what many view as a trying time for democracy and education.
A 2022 survey from the Annenberg Public Policy Center of the University of Pennsylvania found that only 47 percent of adults could name all three branches of government. The U.S. Department of Education has also expressed concerns over long-term learning loss among teenagers who missed class time during the COVID-19 pandemic when many classrooms switched to a remote model.
Biden has made education in the U.S. one of her top priorities as first lady. In addition to her first lady duties, Biden is also the first first lady to hold a paying job outside of the White House, as she works as a professor of English at Northern Virginia Community College.
“Well Versed” premieres on Nickelodeon, Paramount+ and Noggin on Wednesday. The show’s curriculum is guided by nonprofit civic education provider iCivics. An official “Well Versed” soundtrack will be released on Friday.
