Jessie J Wrote a Song All About Her Relationship With Ex-Boyfriend Channing Tatum

From Cosmopolitan

Looks like Jessie J may have written a song about her on-again / off-again relationship with Channing Tatum that sheds some light on what went wrong. At least according to The Sun, who is out here reporting that "Simply In Love" is fully about he ex.

Jessie actually first performed the song (which is expected to be on her upcoming album) last year, and while Channing isn't mentioned by name, lyrics suggest that they moved too fast:

“You’re always dreaming about tomorrow, and I’m still overthinking yesterday."

"Where you go I know I want to follow, let’s make a promise on today."

"Take it slow, baby steps, so we don’t ruin what comes next. Just be still, just stay calm, so we’re not rushing what we are. Pressure off, just have fun, it’s not a race, no need to run. If it’s forever, let’s just simply be in love.”

The Sun reports that Jessie gave some insight into the song's creation during an Instagram Live, saying, “I wrote this song about when you first meet someone and you want to steam ahead. Sometimes running can ruin a foundation that a relationship needs, which is to just be chill, stay still and enjoy the moment.”

As a reminder, Jessie and Channing most recently split up in April. But they originally started dating in October 2018 after Channing’s divorce from Jenna Dewan, broke up after about a year, got back together a few months later, and then split again.
