Jessica Simpson gets a lot of attention for her parenting choices, pregnancy woes, and more. Most recently, she opened up about her childhood sexual abuse that led to her alcohol and pill addiction with People magazine, a sneak peek of what's to come from her upcoming memoir, Open Book. The book will be released on February 4, 2020, but it's up for preorder now on Amazon. (FYI: She's also going on a book tour and has signed over 14,000 books ahead of its launch.) Considering the book goes for $20, that means she's expecting to sell at least $280,000 in books–though it's unknown how much moula she'll actually net from overall sales.

Jessica began her celebrity career singing, snagging a coveted record deal at age 16. She went on to sell millions of records right out of the gate, but that was just the beginning of Jessica's multi-faceted business ventures. Over the years, she's proven her versatility as an actress, fashion designer, and now, author. Here are all the ways the star and mom of three earns her big paychecks.

Jessica sold millions of records as a teen.

At age 16, Columbia Records signed her and released her debut studio album in 1999, per Billboard. Sweet Kisses was a hit, with hot singles like "I Wanna Love You Forever," which climbed the Billboard charts. The album sold more than four million copies worldwide.

Jessica repeated her success with her second album, Irresistible, released in 2001. It was gold certified by the Recording Industry Association. Her third studio album, In This Skin, came out in 2003 and was more successful than her earlier albums, selling seven million copies.

Jessica starred in reality TV shows.

After marrying singer Nick Lachey in 2002, the couple starred in MTV's Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica. The reality show followed their everyday lives as a young married couple from 2003 to 2005. Not long after, Jessica filed for divorce in 2006 and later told Billboard her marriage was her biggest money mistake.

A few years later, Jessica also appeared as a judge and mentor on Fashion Star between 2012 and 2013, per IMDB.

Jessica made big money moves to the big screen.

In 2005, the songstress snagged the role of Daisy Duke in the film adaptation of The Dukes of Hazzard. While the movie had mixed reviews, Jessica's singing (These Boots Are Made For Walkin') landed her another spot in the top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100. The film also proved popular in the theaters, grossing more than $80 million, per Box Office Mojo.

Jessica then built a fashion empire.

Jessica's daisy dukes jean shorts may or not have had any role in her foray into fashion, but they debuted at the same time. She launched The Jessica Simpson Collection in 2005 to outfit the regular woman—of all ages and sizes. The idea worked, like, really well. Her brand brings in over $1 billion in revenue annually, per Business of Fashion.

Jessica lost weight, but gained $$$ with Weight Watchers.

Jessica capitalized on her post-baby weight loss in 2012 by partnering with Weight Watchers, for which she earned a cool $4 million. She promoted the brand and lost weight on the program following the birth of her first child with Eric Johnson.

Oh, and that's not all, Jessica also launched a maternity line for her fashion collection and launched a fragrance called Vintage Bloom after giving birth.

Jessica's also dabbled in interior design.

The star moved from selling clothing to a range of interior décor items in 2013, the same year her son Ace Knute Johnson was born. It seems inspiration strikes when she has a bun in the oven. Her home goods line is available at Bed Bath & Beyond, per Business of Fashion.

She also launched a collection of workout clothing. "I’m as committed as I was 10 years ago," she said in a statement. "Here’s to the next billion."

Overall, Jessica's net worth totals $200 million (and her hubs Eric is worth about $10 million), according to CelebrityNetWorth.
