Jessica Simpson had double the reason to celebrate recently, as she announced in a birthday post dedicated to her eldest, Maxwell, that her father, Joe Simpson, was battling bone cancer, but went through successful treatment!

The 42-year-old shared a heartfelt post on Instagram celebrating Maxwell's 11th birthday, revealing that her daughter used her birthday wish on her grandfather's illness.

Simpson wrote, "[Maxwell] told me after she blew out HER 11 candles…'I made a wish that was for me and you and actually the whole family' I said Maxi it should be your wish and she said 'we have the same wishes Mom.'"

"Maxwell’s birthday wish was for her Papa Joe’s bone cancer treatment to work. It did. Thank you Maxi Drew for usin’ your wish on our family and most importantly, my Dad," she continued.

The mother of three praised her daughter, adding a message directly to her: "You are mesmerizing, steadfast, intelligent, passionate, generous, loving, devoted, inspiring, enticing, confident, empathetic, powerful, intuitive, beautiful, DETERMINED, enlightened and FULL OF WONDER. The faith of a child is what keeps all of us ALIVE."

Simpson didn't reveal any more details about her father's cancer, or what sort of treatment he went through.

Many of Simpson's fans were in awe at Maxwell's kindness, and happy to hear that her father's treatment went well, as one replied in the comments: "What an incredible soul! Love everything about this story. So happy to hear this news. Sending my love to everyone in your beautiful family!"

In February, the entire Simpson family came together to celebrate Joe's birthday, and the fashion designer honored the occasion by sharing a photo of herself, Joe, her mother, Tina Simpson, and her sister, Ashlee Simpson.

She included the meaningful message, "My beautiful family together forevermore. I am proud of us for all that we have accomplished unconventionally with pure honesty."

Also at the celebration were Maxwell, Simpson's husband, Eric Johnson, and her two other kids, Ace and Birdie, and it appears that the whole family is very close and see each other often.
