  • Jessica Simpson is mom to three children: Maxwell, 7, Ace, 6, and Birdie, 5 months.

  • She's been criticized in the past by mom shamers, and most recently, haters called her out for reportedly strapping her daughter into a stroller incorrectly.

  • It appears Jessica has turned off her Instagram comments following the incident.

We can all agree that mom shaming is rude, unnecessary, and straight-up mean...but some still do it. Unfortunately, Jessica Simpson has had more than her share of it—and she’s finally doing something about it.

Jessica regularly shares photos of her adorable kids—Maxwell, 7, Ace, 6, and Birdie, 5 months—on Instagram. And negative comments on a recent post about Birdie finally made her take action. On Friday, Jessica shared a photo of her baby sitting in a seat. “This bird couldn’t be more adorable #blueeyes,” she wrote in the caption.

Cue the haters. “Straps on this car seat do not provide correct support,” one person wrote. “That hard buckle should be on her sternum instead of her belly to be optimally effective and not cause more harm if a car accident would happen (God forbid!),” another said.

Others jumped in and pointed out that Birdie was clearly sitting in a stroller, not a car seat. “Well maybe you should look again and see it’s a stroller instead of mom shaming,” one person wrote.

Here’s the thing: The last comment someone left was on Saturday, which suggests that Jessica turned her comments off.

Jessica has calmly dealt with mommy shaming for what seems like ages. Most recently, she was bashed for letting Maxwell dye the tips of her hair purple. But she’s also faced heat for posing Birdie for a picture on her stomach and sharing a photo of Maxwell wearing MAC lipstick.

Jessica has also been bashed for sharing pics of Maxwell in a bathing suit and again for one that showed Maxwell riding a scooter without a helmet.

As a whole, she’s kept pretty quiet on the haterade. But this move was subtle and, if I do say so myself, so, so awesome.
