Jessica Simpson Fans Offer Up Mixed Reactions to Glamorous New Photoshoot

Jessica Simpson got all glammed up for a new magazine shoot, but not everyone is feeling her "icon era."

The actress features on the latest cover of Footwear News, in honor of receiving the Icon Award at the upcoming 37th annual FN Achievement Awards, where she shines in revealing 'fits and messy updos. The only problem is that not everyone is sold on the idea that the model in the photos is in fact the "With You" singer.

In the first snap, the actress dons a sheer bra top made of crystals and accented with black bows on the jewel-encrusted straps. Loose tendrils of her blond locks fell loosely to frame her face, which was made up with a peachy pink gloss and matching blush with a light highlighter brightening the corners of her eyes. The final photo found her in the same look, with the addition of a pair of black, elbow-length gloves.

Her second look was a shiny pink strapless dress with a deep sweetheart neckline and daring slit up the skirt, showing off her toned legs and pumps decorated with a sparkling silver bow.

The third look found her in a gold sequined halter top and a pair of black tights, though most of the look was covered up by her arms crossed over her chest and long hair draping down her front. She went with a bolder makeup look, lining her entire eye in a thick black shadow, and switching to a matte nude lip.

While some fans agreed she "looks smokin and these are beautiful pictures," many felt that she didn't actually look anything like herself.

"It says 'Jessica Simpson' but who is the lady in the pictures?" one commenter asked.

"She’s also entering her 'that doesn’t look like Jessica Simpson' era it appears," someone else joked.

"she kinda looks like Julia Fox in these," someone else suggested.

Others questioned why the photographer had permitted her to keep her mouth posed in a half-open pout in each photo, begging for "a little variety."

"Entering her mouth breathing era it seems lol," another follower added.

Simpson is, unfortunately, no stranger to criticism over her looks, previously offering a sharp response to critics of her appearance and more recently shutting down those who accused her of using Ozempic to slim down.
