Jessica Chastain Wore a Completely See-Through Red Carpet Look and Fans Are Stunned

As the 2023 Tony Awards gets underway, folks are waiting to see what fashion statement nominee Jessica Chastain makes at the ceremony for her work in A Doll's House. But she's been pulling risky couture moments for years, way before she attended Broadway's biggest night.

Back in July 2021, the George and Tammy actress graced the red carpet for a screening of the film Annette at the 74th annual Cannes Film Festival. Never one to shy away from a high-end moment, Jessica shocked attendees when she wore a strapless black gown by Christian Dior. The dress was made of tulle and it featured a sweetheart neckline with raised velvet swirls going across the length of the garment. With those accents, the piece appeared to look tiered and it billowed off with a ruffled hem at the bottom.

But the true whimsy of the look came from the tulle's sheer quality, giving the appearance that the Zero Dark Thirty alum wore nothing underneath. What's more, coupled with the tiered silhouette, it created the illusion that Jessica slipped on a modern-day birdcage design.

With a moment so edgy for a formal event like Cannes, it was only fitting to let the goth-like appeal shine with accenting elements. To off set the all-black ensemble, the Molly's Game star wore a ruby-encrusted layered necklace and a matching cocktail ring. Keeping in theme with the darker hue, Jessica also painted her nails to match the color of her jewelry.

Her signature red hair was pulled back into a low ponytail with a side part and pieces framing her face. She brought everything together with simple eye makeup and red wine-colored lipstick.

When Jessica later posted highlights from her big moment on Instagram, folks couldn't look away after noticing how stunning she appeared for the occasion.

"My Queen 💞🌹💞🌹💞," one person wrote in the comments. "Jessica, you look gorgeous! 💖💖💖💖," another exclaimed. "So elegant, so beautiful!!!!" a different follower raved.
