She’s living the dream! Jessica Chastain opened up about her romantic Italian wedding to husband Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo on Live with Kelly and Ryan Monday, telling Kelly Ripa and guest co-host Anderson Cooper little tidbits about her relationship with the Count.

“We met in Paris,” Chastain, 40, said. “It’s incredible because the day Jean Luc and I met was the day I got nominated for an Oscar—I know, it’s probably the best day I ever had.”

The Molly’s Game actress added that it was complete happenstance that the pair met, since she was whisked unknowingly into a fashion show in 2011 when she was still a relative unknown.

“It was the beginning of my career and then I met my future husband, so who knew?” she said as Ripa gushed over her good luck.

“You’re so smart!” Ripa said. “Every family vacation, it’ll be going home … when you have kids, it’ll be going to see the grandparents in Italy!”

Chastain noted that she and de Preposulo did get married in Italy—in the groom’s family’s stunning villa just 20 minutes outside of Venice—though they opted to travel a bit farther for their honeymoon.

“We went on an African safari, which was really special,” Chastain said, naming Johannesburg, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Botswana as a few of the countries that they visited.

One interesting tidbit that Chastain made note of as well is that though her husband is a Count, she has thus far not been called upon to become a Countess (“not on any of my identification,” she said).

Chastain and de Preposulo wed in a luxurious wedding with “a lot of wine and food” this past June after five years of dating.
