Jessica Biel Thinks Justin Timberlake Will Put on “The Best Show” at Super Bowl
Jessica Biel is hands down, bar none, Justin Timberlake’s No. 1 fan. The actress couldn’t resist from praising her husband of five years to Entertainment Tonight recently, proudly acknowledging the former boy bander’s upcoming Super Bowl Halftime show.
“It’s going to be good,” Biel, 35, said. “I guess I could be a little bit biased, but I think he puts on the best show of anybody. I’m just excited for him to have a really incredible place to perform and play some great stuff.”
Timberlake, 36, last performed at the Super Bowl halftime show in 2004, with music icon Janet Jackson. (The pair famously got embroiled in a headline-making controversy after Timberlake exposed Jackson’s breast to an audience of 143.6 million viewers, leading to stricter FCC regulations.)
Biel added that it wasn’t quite the headlines that first drew her to Timberlake; it was an unnameable magnetic spark that really convinced her that he was “The One.”
“We had been dating for a little bit … There was just a moment when I called a girlfriend and I said, ‘I’m going to marry this guy,’” she said. “I don’t necessarily know why, but I think a lot of people feel that way. It’s not a tangible moment where you’re like, ‘This is it.’ It just is, somehow.”
The duo was first met through mutual friends in 2007 and tied the knot in Italy in 2012. In a Reddit AMA back in August, Biel made a stunning admission: he wasn’t exactly a huge *NSYNC fan back in the day.
Asked by a fan whether she was “team Backstreet Boys or team *NSYNC,” Biel answered honestly: “I was such a theater nerd at that time that I literally wasn’t listening to either of those groups. I was listening to soundtracks, like Rent and old 50’s/60’s music. I can be a little off on my timing. But if I had been cool, DUH, NSYNC all the way, baby!”
