Jessica Alba, Busy Philipps, and More Stars Are Getting in on #TheAwesomeChallenge

Social media can be a minefield, but there are ways to use it for good, too. And that’s just what celebs including Jessica Alba, Busy Philipps, Lauren Conrad, Sophia Bush, Emma Heming-Willis, Michelle Monaghan, Kelly Rutherford, Sara Foster, Kelly Oxford, and Stacy London are doing with #TheAwesomeChallenge.

If you’ve been on social media in the past 24 hours, you might have noticed people posting pics of what makes them feel “awesome.” But there’s more to the trend than just a happy hashtag and confidence-boosting captions. #TheAwesomeChallenge, which was launched by Rockets of Awesome and Baby2Baby, is raising money for more than 7,500 kids who need new clothes for the first day of school.

Jessica Alba explained the campaign on her account, alongside a GIF of her daughters Honor and Haven before they started school last year. “Help me send @Baby2Baby kids back to school with new clothes from @RocketsofAwesome with #TheAwesomeChallenge,” she wrote. “Post a photo of a clothing item that makes you feel awesome and tag 3 awesome friends. For every post with #TheAwesomeChallenge @RocketsofAwesome will donate one outfit to @Baby2Baby so every kid can go back to school feeling confident and awesome.”

Emma Heming-Willis shared a photo of herself, husband Bruce Willis, and their two young daughters, with the caption: “Today is #TheAwesomeChallenge. Wearing an easy shirt with jeans makes me feel confident and being with my family makes me feel AWESOME. How about you? For every post using #TheAwesomeChallenge @rocketsofawesome will donate back-to-school clothing to a @baby2baby child in need, because every child deserves to conquer the first day of school with confidence!”

Busy Philipps, meanwhile, said she feels awesome when she tackles her daily workout instead of staying in bed. And Lauren Conrad gets that oh-so-awesome feeling from denim.

For Stacy London, it’s wearing her Rachel Comey dress. For Sophia Bush, it’s the memory of a day with her friends. “One year ago today I witnessed one of the most #awesome sights I have ever been lucky enough to see. An eclipse, in totality, with some of my very best friends,” she captioned a photo of the group staring up at the sky with eclipse glasses.

Mission: Impossible – Fallout‘s Michelle Monaghan said that she feels her most awesome “on a run, feet in the sand, listening to my favorite tunes, and let’s face it, wearing my favorite nail color.”

And 90210‘s Sara Foster admitted that being on vacation drinking and sleeping in while not having to do laundry with little ones screaming at her makes her feel pretty awesome.

What makes you feel awesome? Share your pics and use the hashtag #TheAwesomeChallenge.
