This Jersey Shore Destination Was Just Named the Best Spring Break Spot in the U.S.

Atlantic City reigns supreme but there's a catch.

Spring break is just around the corner, and if you haven't booked your getaway yet, you might be interested in this recently published ranking of the top party cities in the country. According to BonusFinder.com, a website dedicated to helping gamblers find online casino and sportsbook bonuses, the best spring break party destination is none other than Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Yes, the East Coast gambling capital on the Jersey Shore, which is located just an hour from Philadelphia and two hours from New York, has topped the rankings, scoring a perfect 10/10 based on several categories.

To come up with the list, Bonus Finder crunched the following stats for more than 100 U.S. cities, including:

  • Music Events

  • Bars

  • Nightclubs

  • Late Night Food Venues

  • Hotels

  • Casinos

  • Average Price of a Drink

  • Average Price of a Hotel Room

  • Average Taxi Cost from the Airport to the City Center

  • Last Call at the Bar


Where Atlantic City excelled was the average price of a hotel room (just $116), no "last call" for serving alcohol, and the number of casinos per 10,000 people. (It even beat Las Vegas with that last metric.)

"While many assume they know the prime party spots, oftentimes these well-known cities can disappoint," Fintan Costello, the managing director of BonusFinder, said in a statement obtained by Travel + Leisure. "Our aim with this research was to uncover where the real fun happens, and the results are truly fascinating."

We think there's one key thing BonusFinder missed, though: the weather. Atlantic City is cold in March and April, unlike more popular spring break destinations like Florida's Miami Beach and South Padre Island, Texas. So while Atlantic City might be a beach town, don't expect to spend much time outside. Instead, you'll want to focus on indoor partying.
