Jerry O’Connell Is Playing a Very Important Character in the Season 11 ‘Big Bang Theory’ Finale

A very special guest has RSPV’d yes to Sheldon (Jim Parsons) and Amy’s (Mayim Bialik) Big Bang Theory wedding, and no, it’s not renowned astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson.

TV veteran Jerry O’Connell has officially signed on to play Sheldon’s older brother, George, during the season 11 finale episode of BBT, which centers on the quirky couple’s nuptials. Producers of the hit CBS comedy announced the exciting news at PaleyFest in Los Angeles last night.

George is one of the main characters on the Big Bang Theory spin-off series, Young Sheldon. He’s referred to as Georgie and is played by Montana Jordan in the prequel.

But grown-up George isn’t the only Cooper family member who will join the festivities. Sheldon and George’s mother, Mary (Laurie Metcalf), will also be in attendance to walk her youngest son down the aisle. Sheldon’s twin sister, Missy (Courtney Henggeler), and his Meemaw (June Squibb) will be there to celebrate the couple’s big day as well.

During the same PaleyFest panel, the Big Bang Theory cast teased that pre-wedding rituals, like the bachelor and bachelorette parties, would be as unconventional as one would expect from Sheldon and Amy. “They don’t go the way you think they would go,” Kaley Cuoco (Penny) hinted.

The Big Bang Theory season 11 finale airs on Thursday, May 10, at 8 p.m. We just hope it’s as pretty as Jim Parsons’s IRL wedding*Swoon*
