‘Jeopardy!’ Star James Holzhauer Took a Shot at Ken Jennings About Leaving ‘The Chase’

James Holzhauer may be good friends with Ken Jennings, but he never fails to keep him on his toes with funny quips about their working relationship.

James recently won the first season of Jeopardy! Masters, and a new clip posted on Instagram celebrated his time competing on the tournament. What's more, the video also showed a funny moment between James and Ken about their time on the ABC trivia show The Chase. Viewers may remember that the duo was among quiz experts who faced off against everyday folks in a race to see who could guess the most trivia facts in the shortest amount of time. Ken left in March 2022 to presumably become the host of Jeopardy!, leaving James to star alongside Brad Rutter, Mark Labbett and others.

Unsurprisingly, James didn't pass up the opportunity to tease Ken about him not being on the show anymore. "Oh, no, I love The Chase," he joked to Ken."I get to, you know, crush dreams, take people's money. It's perfect for me. And ever since we improved the Chaser lineup this year, it's a great locker room to work in there."

When fans caught the affectionate dig James threw Ken's way, they couldn't hold back how much they enjoyed seeing the banter online.

"He’s my favorite ever," one person wrote in the comments on Instagram. "James is so entertaining! 👏," another responded."👑👑👑👏👏👏💪💪," a different viewer added.

Thankfully, it looks like Ken doesn't takes James' jokes to heart and often jests him back with his own quips about their friendship. What's more, Ken recently upheld an old debt he and Brad owed to James after he asked them to smash a raw egg on their heads as part of the Crack Cancer Challenge. Not only did Ken do it, he let James smash the item on his head while on live TV.
