'Jeopardy!' Host Mayim Bialik Had a Super Awkward Fan Encounter Involving Ken Jennings

Even while hosting Celebrity Jeopardy!, it sounds like Mayim Bialik has to remind some viewers that she's still sharing Jeopardy! hosting duties with Ken Jennings.
Recently, The Big Bang Theory alum and her boyfriend Jonathan Cohen jumped on an Instagram Live from her podcast Mayim Bialik’s Breakdown's official page to welcome new followers. According to the Blossom star, she had filmed a Celebrity Jeopardy! promotion and had an interesting encounter before getting on set.
“I went to the lobby of where I was filming this Jeopardy! shoot today and [a] man was wearing a mask and I was with [my assistant],” Mayim said in the August 12 Instagram video. “[She] said to the man, ‘We’re here for a Jeopardy! shoot.’ The guy says ‘Oh, are you going to be on the show?’ and it was kind of awkward.”
Mayim continued: “I was really tired. I was like ‘I’m the host.’ And he was like ‘What about Ken Jennings?’ And I said ‘Well, we actually share duties.’ And he was like ‘Oh.’”
The Call Me Kat leading lady went on to explain that the man said he was from Canada just like Alex Trebek was. In the end, it seems like she laughed off the encounter. Mayim's fans, of course, were nothing but supportive despite the awkward moment.
“You're just GREAT! 👏 You bring me joy! Thank you. ♥️,” one person wrote in the Instagram comments section. “I love how real you are in your posts,” another added. “Love you. You are amazing and inspiring. 💖,” a different fan said.
This isn’t the first time that Mayim has had to field questions about her Jeopardy! job. During a Breakdown podcast episode with host/friend Justin Long, she revealed that she’d heard folks openly admit their hosting preferences when it came to herself and Ken. “Sometimes [and] sometimes I get ‘We don’t prefer you to Ken,’” she said.
