Mayim Bialik has officially returned to the Jeopardy! stage, but there is no saying how long she’ll be standing at the podium this time — and Jeopardy! fans have different opinions about her homecoming.

On March 27, the Call Me Kat actress felt at home again when Jeopardy! announcer Johnny Gilbert reintroduced her to the quiz show. But many viewers admitted that they were caught off guard seeing Mayim instead of Ken Jennings, who has been at the lectern since Valentine’s Day. What’s more, before the Jeopardy! legend signed off, he teased there would be “some fantastic games” in the coming week — just not with him.

After realizing there was yet another change in hosts, Jeopardy! fans revealed how upset they were on Twitter. “Settled down to watch tonight. No Ken. :(. Changes channel,” one person wrote. “I was surprised to see @missmayim back. I've become quite attached to @KenJennings hosting,” another added. “Please bring Ken back!!! 😭😭😭 🙏,” another added.

On the contrary, several Jeopardy! fans were excited to see Mayim return to the show after a few weeks without her. “So happy to have @missmayim back!” a follower commented. “I think Mayim is fabulous as host!! So glad to see her hosting again!!!” someone else tweeted.

There are also many folks in the middle that don’t mind The Big Bang Theory star and Jeopardy! champion switching off for the remainder of season 38. “Love having Mayim Bialik and Ken Jennings host the show. They both bring something different to Jeopardy and I love when we switch things up. Best of both worlds with double duty,” a fan wrote.

While Jeopardy! is in the middle of its current season, many viewers are waiting to hear who will be named Jeopardy!’s permanent host. Most recently, Mayim has expressed that she would “love” to stay on the show in the coveted role. Speaking with Entertainment Tonight on March 13, Mayim shared that she’ll be recording new episodes until later this spring. But when she wraps up, she doesn’t know what will happen afterward.

“I like to say, [I’ve] lived season to season since [I was] about 13 years old,” Mayim told the outlet. “So, what I know is I’m hosting until May 6, and beyond that, hopefully, I’ll know more before May 6.”

Two days later, Ken announced that he was leaving his gig on the trivia show The Chase after two seasons. Inevitably, this raised questions among Jeopardy! fans and sparked speculation that this could mean he will be named the new permanent host. Still, nothing has been formally announced just yet, so we'll all have to wait and see.
