With 38 wins to his name, former Jeopardy! champion Matt Amodio has officially joined the ranks of show legends Ken Jennings, James Holzhauer and Buzzy Cohen. Although Matt was disappointed to lose to Jonathan Fisher earlier this month, he is now using his time to connect with Buzzy — albeit, not in the most conventional way.

It all began on the evening of October 23 when Buzzy was going down memory lane and tweeted, “Just remembered that I guest hosted #Jeopardy. That was so cool!” As folks may remember, Buzzy was a part of the guest host roster comprised of celebrities and Jeopardy! prodigies honoring Alex Trebek’s legacy in season 38. Buzzy stepped in to guest host the 2021 Tournament of Champions, which he won himself in 2017.

When Matt saw Buzzy’s tweet, he got a kick out of it and replied back in the early hours of October 24. “🙏 I have so much to learn from your twitter game 🙏,” he wrote.

Inspired by Buzzy's sense of humor, Matt then added a touch of comedy to his own Twitter feed. “i luv when ppl have multipl mispellings in there tweets and then post a reply that 0nly corects 1 of thm,” Matt wrote on October 25, purposely not spelling words correctly. He followed it up with a reply to his own tweet which read, “misspellings*.”

But it didn’t end there. Matt then went back to Buzzy’s original tweet and directly asked for his approval. “How did I do?” he wrote, and Buzzy replied back with a gif that said, “Not great, not terrible.”

Needless to say, Jeopardy! fans had so much to say about their whole interaction. The majority couldn’t help but admire the two for forming a friendship right before their eyes.

“I love seeing y’all interact, it’s so wholesome 💙,” one person wrote. “My two favorite Jeopardy! stars in one place!” another added. “I’m laughing so hard at this @AmodioMatt you have the best sense of humor if 0nly everyone had the humor you have,” a different fan said. “I want a game show with a permanent panel of Matt, Buzzy, James, and Ken. Just day after day of you 4 polymaths answering obscure questions while the viewers watch in awe — and sometimes claim ‘I knew that!’” a follower commented.

Matt first starred on Jeopardy! in late July, so he didn’t get a chance to share the stage with Buzzy. But who knows, maybe they'll become pals off camera. In the meantime, we're loving these epic exchanges between the two Jeopardy! prodigies.
