'Jeopardy!' Contestant Reveals His Surprising Acting Credit in Popular Movie
A Jeopardy! contestant almost got his big break in an iconic Hollywood flick.
In a clip from the May 3 episode, contestant Dan Czekalski revealed he had a role in The Notebook. When host Mayim Bialik asked him about it, Czekalski detailed how he ended up getting cast in the movie.
"So, when I was in college in Charleston, South Carolina, we found out a movie production was coming to town. One of my roommates lucked into the job of assistant to the executive producer," he explained. "I somehow parlayed that into a speaking role in The Notebook."
However, Czekalski's Hollywood moment was cut short.
"They ended up cutting it down so you only see the side of my face for a couple of seconds, but I'm still in the credits," he said.
"That's still pretty awesome," exclaimed Bialik.
The Jeopardy! social media accounts captioned the video, "Dan was in The Notebook…but can Ryan Gosling play Jeopardy?!"
Instead of trying to find more acting roles, Czekalski is now a project manager. He does get to boast about having an IMDb credit as "Recruitment Officer" in the 2004 film.
Czekalski isn't the only Jeopardy! contestant with an acting credit.
Paris Themmen, who starred in 1971's Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory as TV-obsessed kid Mike Teevee, competed on the show in March 2018. Themmen opted to not disclose his big acting credit on the show, but fans of the beloved classic still recognized him on social media. Avatar actor Dileep Rao also competed on Jeopardy! in 2008, winning $34,400.
