‘Jeopardy’ Contestant’s Final Answer Has Fans in an Uproar

After a Jeopardy! contestant was stumped by a West Coast geography question, fans of the show had a lot to say about her final guess on the recent episode.

The summer road trip-inspired clue read: "Interstate 25 connects these 2 state capitals, 1st & 2nd in elevation, & in between runs through no. 3, Denver."

Two out of three of the players appearing on Monday night's episode correctly guessed at least one of the cities, with North Little Rock, Arkansas-native and development director Dillon Hupp accurately naming both and moving on to tonight's round.

But it was Année Tousseau's answer that had viewers taking to social media to mock her response.

Tousseau, an editor from Alameda, California, incorrectly guessed "Albany, Boston" during the April 24 episode, and after wagering $3,199 of her $3,200, she was left with only $1.

Hupp, who was in second place with $14,200, correctly guessed Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Santa Fe, New Mexico, totaling $21,999 in winnings last night. The third contestant, Emma Hill Kepron, a librarian from Winnipeg, Canada, correctly guessed Cheyenne, but dropped the ball in the second half of her final answer, including Salt Lake City, Utah.

Audiences immediately took to social media to point out her big blunder.

"Annee clearly doesn't know where Denver is," one YouTuber wrote, before another added, "If you're gonna be wrong, go all out."

"I'm a Canadian who is laughing at the idea that Denver is located between Albany and Boston," quipped another top comment.

"The final jeopardy question was asking about this route going through Denver and these two state capitals AND ONE OF THE CONTESTANTS SAID ALBANY AND BOSTON," someone else tweeted in disbelief.

"That drive between Boston & Albany going through Denver is an interesting one," another viewer joked.

Fans can tune in tonight to watch returning champ Hupp go up against retired broadcaster and state medical executive from Los Angeles, California, Ian Marquand, and fiction writer and adjunct professor Johanna Stoberock, from Walla Walla, Washington.
