As the hostess of her daughter’s wedding, the mother of the bride should sparkle just as much as her celebrated kin. Just think about it — wouldn’t you prefer red carpet over retirement home? But designers of traditional gowns haven’t been keeping up with the more desirable, youthful look that moms are craving. Until now.

Wonder by Jenny Packham — helmed by Kate Middleton’s favorite designer — will not only encompass glamorous gowns for mom, but also for brides, bridesmaids, and flower girls. Those planning a wedding will have to wait, though, until the pieces are available at davidsbridal.com and select David’s Bridal stores in February. “The collection epitomizes the grace and glamour I want a bride to feel on her most special day,” the designer told Yahoo Style. “It is thrilling to be able to reach so many brides-to-be across the globe through our new partnership!”

The Spring 2016 Collection is inspired by Belle Epoque and is intended to capture the spirit of Edwardian Society — think Downton Abbey meets the modern day red carpet — with delicate beading, flowing silhouettes, exposed backs, and geometric embellishments.“When Jenny is working on a gown, she is thinking about how the fabric is going to frame the bride’s silhouette and flatter her body,” explains Ann Acierno, Executive Vice President of Merchandising, Design and Product Development at David’s Bridal.

“The biggest difference is the fabrication and the budget,” Packham told WWD. “What’s attractive to us is that we can give more brides access to our designs, regardless of their budgets.”

The line aims to serve the needs of every bride with dresses that run from $99 to $1,450 and sizes 0 to 26. There are also a limited number of bridal accessories: veils, headpieces, shoes, handbags and sashes that coordinate with the gowns, priced between $70 and $350. The skews will vary slightly for mama with four mother-of-the-bride styles, sized 2 to 14 and priced $200-$300. Thigh-high slits, deep V-necklines, keyhole cutouts, and sleeveless styles are just the thing for matriarchs who are ready to show some skin. Other One design offers shimmering elbow-length sleeves in case one wants to cover her arms.

While high-end designer collaborations are not new to David’s Bridal – they have also partnered with Vera Wang (White by Vera Wang) and Zac Posen (Truly Zac Posen) – the mother of the bride styles are a first for the company. “It was a void we felt has needed to be filled for a while,” says Acierno. “Our customers have been asking for more fashion-forward options, and Jenny took on the challenge and created four beautiful styles.”
