Jennifer Lopez's Personal Chef Just Revealed The 2 Foods She'll Never Eat

  • Jennifer Lopez’s personal chef just revealed the two foods she’ll never eat.

  • In an interview with Us Weekly, Kelvin Fernandez said she stays away from salmon and berries.

  • According to him, she doesn’t like the texture of salmon and isn’t big on fruit.

Jennifer Lopez is notoriously strict about her diet (remember that whole 10-day no carbs, no sugar challenge?) but what she does—and doesn’t—eat is always fascinating because... J.Lo. Well, her personal chef, Kelvin Fernandez, just revealed the two foods the Marry Me star won't go near—and tbh, it's kind of shocking.

Fernandez, who works with both J.Lo and fiancé Alex Rodriguez, says you’ll never find J.Lo noshing on a plate of salmon. “I know Jennifer doesn’t love salmon, so if I’m cooking salmon for the [table], I always got to do a sea bass or a halibut or cod for Jennifer,” he told Us Weekly.

It’s not because salmon is an unhealthy food (it’s not)—J. Lo just isn’t into it. “She’s just not a fan of the texture and the taste of salmon,” Fernandez explained.

The other food J.Lo won’t touch? Berries. But her 12-year-old twins, Max and Emme, love them, so she always has them in her fridge. “Jennifer is not a big fruit person,” Fernandez added.

Okay, so... what does make the cut for J.Lo and A-Rod's fridge? “Sparkling water, always fruits and vegetables, like strawberries…There’s always greens like spinach, cucumber, and celery to make green juice,” Fernandez said. “They love starting their day with a green juice.” The family is also huge on having eggs and turkey bacon on-hand every day, he said.

Fernandez says he learned all of this “over time” working with J.Lo and has been nervous about serving up something to his famous clients that they don’t like or can’t eat. “I can’t remember the amount of times that I would have to ask over and over again about dietary restrictions and allergies just because you don’t want to mess up, even though you know,” he said.

Overall, Fernandez said J.Lo and A-Rod want to have a lot of (mostly healthy) food handy. “I think the most important thing is that the pantry is always stocked, the fridge is always stocked,” he said. “The team does a very good job. I think what the most important thing is Jennifer and Alex love consistency, so the team does a great job following that up.”

BTW: Apparently, J.Lo doesn’t like having tempting foods in front of her, either. When she was on another "intense" diet before her Super Bowl halftime performance, Fernandez put rice on the table—and he totally got called out for it.

“The next day she’s like, ‘Kelvin, you served me rice.’ And I’m like, ‘No, no, no, no, no, there was chicken, there was salad. You grabbed the rice!’” he said. “From that moment I said, ‘Alright, Jennifer. I’m going to serve you every single plate individually. Do not look at anyone else’s plate. Do not look at what anyone else has.’”

And that’s how you eat, J.Lo-style.
