Jennifer Lopez Wants 'A Big Wedding' and to 'Get Married in a Church This Time'

From Good Housekeeping

  • Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez got engaged on March 9, 2019.

  • J.Lo has told reporters this fall that the couple hasn't made a lot of wedding plans yet, citing both of their busy schedules as a reason why.

  • The Saturday Night Live host did, however, share some details about her and Alex's special day.

Jennifer Lopez has so many exciting things coming up. Beyond her hosting gig on Saturday Night Live this weekend and preparing to headline the Super Bowl halftime show in February, the 50-year-old superstar is also getting married to former New York Yankee Alex Rodriguez.

As far as we know, J.Lo and Alex are still locking down details for their big day. But the former baseball star did drop a hint on Strahan, Sara and Keke that "it's gonna be a long flight" to get to the event, indicating that some sort of destination wedding was in the works.

“When you think about wedding plans and Jennifer is your partner, all you do is a lot of nodding,” A-Rod joked on Strahan, Sara and Keke.

Hilariously though, J.Lo walked back her future husband's comments when talking to Entertainment Tonight this fall. "He's just saying things. We're talking about it, but we don't have any firm plans ... and we're talking about a lot of places [to get married in], but I don't know yet."

With that being said, J. Lo did say in a YouTube video from her 2019 tour that next year will most likely be the time they tie the knot. She also said, "I'd like a big wedding. And I'd like to get married in a church this time. I've never been married in a church."

Perhaps the most precious part of it all though, is when she told ET that she wants her 11-year-old son, Max, to be the one to walk her down the aisle.

By the sounds of it, those are the few details that J.Lo has definitely landed on. As for everything else, J.Lo said earlier this year that they both have been so busy working on projects that they haven't been able to focus too much time and energy on the wedding.

"I’m just a little bit busy right now," she told the Evening Standard in September.

But her demanding career aside, she assured the publication that whenever the event takes place, it'll be extremely special.

"We both come from traditional Latin families and we want that ... Everyone wants somebody to grow old with. At the end of the day, how much work can you do, how much money can you make, and what does it all matter? It doesn’t, really."
