Jennifer Lopez’s Travel Look Proves That Less Is More

If you’re anything like this writer, heading to the airport is never an easy, breezy affair. You’ve likely packed way too much, are carting around several heavy bags, and have probably layered up in order to avoid baggage fees for extra weight, too. (Just me?). But leave it to a stylish star such as Jennifer Lopez to remind one that, when it comes to travel wear, less is always more—this weekend, she made the case for a streamlined plane fit that’s all about essentials only.

It all started when Lopez posted an Instagram from her private jet yesterday. The Hustlers star, who flew into New York City to do promo for the film, brought along the bare necessities for her work trip: there was no hefty suitcase to be found; instead, simply a chic quilted Chanel bag that she used as a carry-on. (Big enough for a water bottle, charger, passport, and her signature hoops.) Her classic outfit also struck the right balance between cozy and polished: she wore a chunky knit sweater, ripped jeans, and a faux fur coat to keep her warm (hers by Coach, for whom she was recently announced as a brand ambassador.) Suede wedge booties, meanwhile, were the opposite of what you’d expect from a TSA-friendly shoe—but when you’re J.Lo, the rules simply don’t apply.
