Jennifer Lopez Tied Her High Ponytail With the Chicest Silk Scarf

Say what you want, but the high ponytail is officially a fall hair trend for 2019. Kacey Musgraves, Kylie Jenner, Gigi Hadid, Kim Kardashian West, and Sophie Turner are just a handful of celebrities who've recently worn higher-than-heaven ponies that flip outward at the ends. The style, which Allure likes to call the "Bratz Doll pony," has also been seen on the legendary Jennifer Lopez a couple of times this season. Clearly, she's into it because she just wore it on the set of an upcoming movie, with an inventive twist of her own.

While filming Marry Me alongside Owen Wilson in New York City, Lopez wore a high, flipped-out ponytail with what looks like a small silk scarf wrapped around the base, all caught on camera by prying paps. Pay no mind to Wilson's presence or the adorably squidgy bulldog he's holding (easier said than done as far as the bulldog goes), just take a look at this hair. By the looks of the set photos, which sadly aren't taken at the optimal hairstyle angles, the scarf is some sort of cream, black, and brown pattern — very likely leopard print. Just like the other ponytails Hollywood's obsessed with right now, Lopez's has that signature outward flip at the ends.

Lopez is certainly no stranger to the high pony. She wore a much more elaborate version of the style, courtesy of hairstylist Chris Appleton, earlier this season when she walked down the Versace runway in September. Just before that, Appleton created another flippy ponytail on the actress for her engagement party with Alex Rodriguez. And not to mention the many times she wore the look back in the late '90s and early aughts. Did Jennifer Lopez invent the high pony? It sure as hell seems like it.
