Did you know that Jennifer Lopez has a skincare line called JLo Beauty? If you didn’t, you’re not alone. Jennifer Lopez launched JLo Beauty in 2021, and it sold exclusively at Sephora. However, according to store associates, the makeup and beauty store no longer stocks the shelves with JLo Beauty products. Keep reading for more information.

JLo Skincare Products Are Pulled From Shelves In Sephora

According to sales associates who spoke to Beauty Independent, the JLo Beauty line was removed from stores. Though customers can still purchase JLo Beauty products on Sephora's website, they will not be found amongst Selena Gomez's Rare Beauty or Rihanna's Fenty Beauty any longer.

This comes after JLo Beauty's CEO, Lisa Sequino, left JLo Beauty to become the CEO of Supergoop. Representatives for JLo Beauty have yet to comment on the departure of JLo Beauty products from Sephora retail locations.

Investment bank Piper Jaffray gave some insight into what the reason behind JLo Beauty leaving shelves may be. "The evolving Sephora demographic leans towards younger consumers who tend to be brand agnostic. Their buying behavior is driven more by a brand's virality on TikTok, efficacy, affordability, branding and playful packaging," she says.

"JLo Beauty seems to be targeting a slightly older consumer with product strategy, branding and messaging that feels outdated in today's landscape…If you look at other successful celebrity brands like Rhode or Rare Beauty, they have tapped into the cultural zeitgeist in a way that JLo Beauty hasn't with cult-worthy, viral products that are safe, fun and feed-worthy."

Fans Slam JLo On Social Media For 'Inauthentic' Skincare Line

Sephora customers have posted on Reddit to slam JLo for even launching a beauty and skincare line in the first place. "JLo beauty ~literally~ collecting dust," the original poster wrote.

"Lmao embarrassing," another user said. "I don't trust JLo Beauty because I don't think she actually uses it. The reason we wear FB [Fenty Beauty] and FS [Fenty Skin] is because Rihanna actually uses it and it's something we can tell she's genuinely interested in. This is a cash grab to me."

"I don't blame celebrities for hustling but the way JLo claims everything is olive oil and her dumb skincare line infuriates me so much," said another.

"As it should," said another person. "Overprices piece of crap tbh."

"It's inauthentic," a final person said. "I wouldn't buy it."
