Jennifer Lopez has a shorter new hairstyle to celebrate her Super Bowl debut

We have been not-so-patiently waiting for the 2020 Super Bowl ever since Jennifer Lopez and Shakira were announced as the official performers at the halftime show. Both J.Lo and Shakira have been putting in work for months, and while they haven’t divulged much about what fans can expect on game day, we have a feeling it’s going to be epic. Ahead of the big performance on Sunday, they teamed up for a press conference in Miami on Thursday, January 30th, and while seeing the ladies together made our hearts go aflutter, we almost missed one tiny detail: J.Lo’s new hairstyle.

The Hustlers star is one of our favorite style and beauty chameleons. She always keeps us guessing—especially when it comes to her hair. She showed off a shorter cut at the press conference, which was the work of her longtime hair guru, Chris Appleton, and she’s serving old Hollywood glam vibes.

It seems her new look was a speedy switch-up. Just hours earlier, she showed off her signature mermaid-length strands in a couple of car selfies.

Lopez posed for the camera showing off shaggy side bangs and long, straight hair, giving zero indication that she was about to change her look up entirely.

And now, here’s her press conference look, a sleek blowout that she wore in a side part. There’s added volume at the bottom, thanks to the flipped-in ends that gave the look a totally retro twist. The ends give the illusion of a cut, so while we can’t tell if this is her natural length or not, we must say, we are loving the shorter length on her.

Lopez herself shared some photos from the press conference, featuring her hilariously pretending to throw a football, posing with Shakira, and also showing off her signature bedazzled sippy cup.

No word on whether the blinged-out cup will make an appearance on Sunday night, but we do hope her new look comes out to play. We’ll have to wait and see, but trust us, we are ready.
