Jennifer Lopez Says She Wants to Have More Kids—And A-Rod’s Reaction Is Hilarious

Jennifer Lopez and fiancé Alex Rodriguez announced their engagement in March, and it sounds like the couple might be interested in taking their relationship to the next level by expanding their family.

In an interview with Sirius XM’s Today Show Radio, J.Lo sat down with Hoda Kotb to talk about her upcoming film Hustlers, and she happened to reveal something pretty huge. Kotb asked the 50-year-old actress if she wants to have kids, and she didn’t hesitate in responding, “Yeah!”

Well, I think we’d all simply lose it if A-Rod and J.Lo welcomed a little baby into the world. But, of course, Rodriguez wasn’t there to weigh in on the decision, so Kotb had to follow up with him on Today with Hoda and Jenna on Wednesday.

A-Rod clearly didn’t anticipate receiving that question from Kotb, and his reaction was absolutely hilarious. Kotb asked the former professional baseball player if kids were in their future, and with shocked eyes, he replied “Interesting! That’s a lot to unpack.”

After a quick pause, he then considered why his fiancé may have had kids on her mind in the first place, and decided that Kotb was the reason. At 55, Kotb recently welcomed her second child in April via adoption. “Hoda, I think honestly, you’ve inspired her,” he told her. “She sees how happy you are, and she may want to follow in your footsteps some day.”

Lopez and Rodriguez have both been previously married and each have two children. The Hustlers actress has a great relationship with ex-husband Marc Anthony and their two kids, Emme and Maximillian.

Rodriguez has two daughters, Natasha and Ella, with ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis. The soon-to-be newlyweds have beautifully blended their families and have amazing relationships with each other’s children.

“Our kids have become best friends and that keeps us both grounded and appreciative,” Rodriguez told People in a joint interview with Lopez December. “Kids are so beautiful and open to love and new friends,” Lopez added. “I was so loving to his kids and he was so loving and accepting of mine, and they embraced each other right away.”

Wondering what J.Lo’s kids thought of her relationship with A-Rod, Kotb asked the Hustlers star what she hopes they will learn from her experience. “I hope that they learn what it is to be supported, what real love can look like,” Lopez told her. “He shows up for them… I hope that they understand that that’s what love is—being there and caring.”
