Jennifer Lopez Puts a Mermaid Spin on Businesswear With a Vibrant Yellow Skirt and Coral-Blue Heels

Leave it to Jennifer Lopez to remix any trend into her grand, flashy own, which is exactly what she did when she put bold, bright, and futuristic touches on businesswear—with a healthy dose of mermaid.

The “Let’s Get Loud” singer took to Instagram on Friday night to share a carousel of images of her bombshell ensemble. In the photos, Lopez exudes power, posing in an oversize, slouchy light-gray blazer with dramatic peak lapels, layered over a slightly translucent, light blue mock-neck blouse; both pieces hailed from Valentino’s Spring/Summer 2024 couture collection. She tucked the dreamy top into a vibrant mustard-yellow hip-hugging mermaid skirt, also from the Valentino collection, which featured layers of folded fabric along the flared out lower half, making it appear flowerlike.

For a futuristic accent, Lopez cinched the centerpiece with a reflective gold belt, and for an additional pop of color, she made a splash in electric coral-blue stiletto heels with a pointed-toe construction. It wouldn’t be a J.Lo outfit without bling too, of course, which she brought with her massive sparkly diamond statement earrings and two large glitzy gold statement rings. As for glam, the Hustlers star glowed in gorgeous bronzy, shimmery makeup, complete with a sultry smoky eye and glossy nude lips. To finish everything off, she styled her hair in a blowout with soft curls.

Lopez captioned the post, “S N L 💛🤍🩶,” with the hearts winking to the colors of her outfit, of course. Lopez is Saturday Night Live’s musical guest tonight, with Ayo Edebiri as host.

As fabulous as her take on nine-to-five wear was, Lopez didn’t stay away from mob wife dressing for long. The queen of the aesthetic was seen stepping out in New York City on Friday, looking straight out of The Sopranos and every inch the main character she is, in an ultra-luxurious floor-length fur coat in a rich chocolate brown, with hints of lighter caramel poking through. She wore the statement piece over a white top and sweeping, loose-fitting light-wash jeans, which allowed only the pointed toes of her brown leather stilettos to poke out. She finished off the look with oversize square sunglasses that featured dark ombré shades and a small white-and-brown snakeskin purse with gold hardware.
