Jennifer Lopez Just Single-Handedly Brought Back This “Ugly” Shoe Trend
Jennifer Lopez is a sneaker fanatic. And though we haven’t had a look into her actual shoe closet (J. Lo, if you’re reading this, this writer is requesting a tour!), a quick peek at her street-style outfits proves that she has an extensive collection of trainers, which includes everything from tried-and-true Nikes to those trendy Alexander McQueen platforms that she wears with everything.
As per usual, a recent Lopez sighting caught our attention because, hey camo leggings and, hey cute turtleneck sweatshirt. But the facet that really piqued our interest was her footwear, specifically, the fact that she was wearing a new pair of sneakers we’d never seen her in before.
Enter: Last’s Sprint Sneakers — trainers so good, they convinced J. Lo to take a break from those sleek white McQueen platforms. It’s worth noting that this new Lopez-approved athletic shoe is quite different from her usual picks in that it boasts a bulkier, chunkier silhouette that hits on the “ugly” sneaker trend that caused a stir in 2018 and 2019. In 2020, the craze has quieted down, but after this sighting, we’re willing to bet it’s about to get some serious buzz again because, well, that’s the power of J. Lo.
The music icon isn’t the only notable name to sport chunky white sneakers. Gigi Hadid and Kate Beckinsale are two others who’ve worn the bold footwear find in the past, both opting for Ash’s Addict Trainer that, much like Lopez’s, boasts a thick lugged sole that adds serious dimension to an outfit.
