This fall, a laundry list of celebrities have jumped on the long-bob bandwagon; Khloé Kardashian, Kristen Bell, and Joey King are just a few of the stunning stars worth mentioning. Now, lo and behold, Jennifer Lopez, queen of the floor-length ponytail, has hopped on board, and Allure got all the details.
J.Lo has actually had a lob for a little while, but it looks like she turned to her trusted hairstylist, Chris Appleton, to give the cut a bit of an update. While Appleton has done countless über-long looks on Lopez, he's also a total pro when it comes to shorter styles. For this cut, which is slightly textured and soft around the face, he relied on a razor to get the job done. "[I] wanted it to be longer and not as serious as a bob, but still shorter," Appleton tells Allure via email. "I cut it with a razor because I didn't want it to be perfectly sleek — I wanted it to have some sexiness," he says of his vision.
When styling J.Lo's new strands, Appleton certainly kept the sexiness factor in mind. "That's why I parted it like that — to get a voluminous glamour look," he explains. As expected, fans are in a frenzy over the singer's transformation and are taking to the comments on Appleton's post to express their excitement. "Omg this is GOLD," writes one fan, while another offers, "Loving this new cut so much 😍🔥." Even fellow artists like Harry Josh and Priscilla Valles complimented the amazing cut.
If this next-level lob isn't enough to get you to go short this season, I don't know what will.
