Jennifer Lopez’s Dramatic High Pony Is All About the Inches—50, to Be Exact

This September, Jennifer Lopez stars as a stripper in Hustlers alongside other buzzy names such as Cardi B, Constance Wu, and Lizzo. The role is a fitting one for the singer; her jaw-dropping abs and insanely fit physique mean she’s practically born to pole-dance, which she does so flawlessly in the teaser trailer. Now, J.Lo’s go-to hair stylist, Chris Appleton, has shared a new video of the star pole-dancing yet again—and this time she’s taken the high ponytail to an extreme while doing so.

“Name someone that makes hair move better than @jlo?” Appleton wrote on Instagram, sharing a video of Lopez whipping her 50-inch ponytail back and forth as she swings around the pole. While it’s unclear if the video is a clip from her new film, Lopez seems to be in full Hustlers character, her extra-long, stick-straight mane—which almost extends to the knees—flowing around the stage. Considering how extra-long hair has become the season’s most subversive trend, J.Lo is clearly onto something here—and she did something impressive (yet unsurprising) while partaking in the trend: she wore the hair, the hair didn’t wear her.
