Lopez’s first professional gig was a five-month tour of Europe with the musical revue show Golden Musicals of Broadway in 1989. She was the only member of the chorus who did not perform a solo, an experience she later described as a watershed moment in her life that taught her the importance of having thick skin in the industry. 1990, she left the musical revue to tour Japan for four months as a chorus member in Synchronicity, and she also appeared on an episode of Yo! MTV Raps that year.

Lopez’s first professional acting job was a modest recurring role on the 1994 television show South Central. She has since gone on to star in several notable films, including 1997’s Anaconda, 2001’s The Wedding Planner, 2002’s Maid in Manhattan, 2005’s Monster-in-Law and 2019’s critically-acclaimed blockbuster, Hustlers. On television, Lopez has also starred in the police drama series Shades of Blue, which ran from 2016 to 2018. One of her most recent efforts, of course, is 2022’s Marry Me.

She’s just recently announced her album This is Me…Now—her first in 10 years. When describing her new music to Vogue, J-Lo said that the album will portray the “emotional, spiritual, and psychological journey she has taken over the past two decades.” This Is Me…Then included a song called “Dear Ben” while J-Lo decided to make a part two of the song which will be released alongside the album.

She also attributes the way her private life is perceived in public to what inspired the album. “People think they know things about what happened to me along the way, the men I was with—but they really have no idea, and a lot of times they get it so wrong. There’s a part of me that was hiding a side of myself from everyone. And I feel like I’m at a place in my life, finally, where I have something to say about it.”

Lopez and Affleck were previously engaged in 2003, after meeting on the set of the RomCom Gigli. The couple called it quits in 2004. “I am confirming the report that Jennifer Lopez has ended her engagement to Ben Affleck,” J-Lo’s rep said in a statement at the time. “At this difficult time, we ask that you respect her privacy.” In her 2014 memoir, True Love, J-Lo referred to her and Ben’s breakup as the “first real heartbreak” she experienced. “Ben and I split up at the moment when I thought we were committing to each other forever,” she wrote. “It was my first real heartbreak, it felt like my heart had been torn out of my chest.”

However, things got back on track when Ben and Jennifer reunited in 2021 after sixteen years apart. The pair rekindled their relationship in April 2021 following J-Lo’s split from Alex Rodriguez, whom she broke up with after four years together. At this time, Ben was already divorced from his ex-wife Jennifer Garner, in which they were together from 2005 to 2018.

J-Lo is ready to show off her movies in her companion film This Is Me…Now. So what is Jennifer Lopez’s diet and how does she workout? Read more to find out.

Jennifer Lopez Diet

Jennifer Lopez’s diet consists of a healthy balance of greens, veggies and fruits. “I have her eating very clean because she needs really good fuel for all the things that she’s doing,” her trainer Tracy Anderson told People. “It’s all organic and it’s all very well thought out, with the balance of very high quality proteins and a lot of nutrient-dense food.”

“Throughout the years I’ve learned the importance of maintaining a healthier […] diet,” the Marry Me star told the publication. “I still eat some of the foods I love, but in moderation. I don’t deprive myself.”

“Being constantly on the go, I always like to have healthier snack options like fruits or vegetables with me,” Lopez said.

Jennifer Lopez’s consistent in her workout routine. “I don’t like doing it later; it’s harder to get there when I have my day going already,” the “On the Floor” singer told Us Weekly via Hollywood Life. “I work out three or four times a week. When I’m in New York, I work out with David Kirsch — he’s an amazing trainer. When I’m in L.A., I work with Tracy Anderson. I like the balance that they both give me. They have two totally different approaches. I like switching it up with my body.”

“If somebody could graduate summa cum laude of physical literacy, it’s her,” Tracy told E! News. “She knows her body so well and she knows what she needs for the many, many projects she does.”

“This is something people need to understand, Jennifer is so driven from within and she’s such a hard worker,” Tracy explained. “I don’t know anyone that has her worth ethic.”

“She’s also very soft and gentle with herself in a really beautiful way that you wouldn’t expect,” Tracy noted. “She knows her engine really well. She doesn’t over-train if she’s got to light up a stage, which is most of the time.”

David says that her workout routine includes “planks, pushups, boxing. A bit of everything.” While with Tracy, they mostly focus on “butt and thigh moves that incorporate the core. We want to keep those famous curves.”

Jennifer Lopez reportedly helped her husband Ben Affleck attain a healthy lifestyle. According to an InTouch Weekly insider, “Ben used to only go outside to pick up his Dunkin’ deliveries and fast-food deliveries. Munchkins for days. Now, he’s going outside to sit for a nice breakfast with Jennifer on the patio with avocado toast, granola and berries.”

“He’s the happiest he’s ever been, so he’ll tell anyone that that means he’s the healthiest he’s ever been, too,” the source notes. “He really wants to take care of himself for Jennifer and the kids and be really present, and he does feel his best when he’s working out with a trainer and eating right.”

Though there’s a healthy change in the household, Ben still has his dear devotion to Dunkin’ as he starred in multiple Super Bowl commercials for the donut brand. In 2024, J-Lo even made an appearance in a Dunkin’ Super Bowl ad alongside Matt Damon, Tom Brady, Jack Harlow, and Fat Joe.
