I Never Knew I Could Feel This Jealous Until I Learned of J.Lo and A.Rod's Double-Date with Meghan and Harry
Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez will not be at the Academy Awards tonight. *sobs*
The silver lining is that J.Lo and A-Rod were busy making friends with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
In case you didn't know, tonight is literally one of the biggest nights for all things movies. It's the Academy Awards! And pretty much everyone you can think of is in attendance. We've got Billy Porter slaying the red carpet as per usual, the entire cast of Parasite because God dammit, they need to win that Best Picture nom, and more! But don't hold your breath for Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez to make an appearance tonight—you know, despite the fact that they shut down every event they attend.
Here's why: J.Lo's movie, Hustlers, was completely snubbed. It didn't secure a single nomination. Criminal, I know. But hey, it's not like J.Lo was bored these past couple of weeks or anything! She was busy preparing for her ICONIC Super Bowl performance with Shakira, remember? And apparently, she and her soon-to-be hubby A-Rod also found some time to make new friends—specifically, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.
Meghan and Harry made their first public appearance following their decision to step back from their senior royal duties at a J.P.Morgan event in Miami last Thursday. And because royalty recognizes royalty, Meghan and Harry dined with J.Lo and A-Rod, and unsurprisingly, they totally hit it off. IDK about you, but I already stan the crap out of this budding friendship.
“Harry and Meghan got on really well with Jennifer and Alex, and spent some time chatting with them over dinner. J.Lo was overheard inviting the couple and their baby Archie to her and Alex’s house in Miami to spend time with them and their kids,” a source told Page Six.
Welp, who needs an Oscar when you're schmoozing it up with actual royalty? @ the Academy, Jenny from the Block is doing juuuuust fine.
