Sadly, Jennifer Lawrence and her family did not have a very happy end to the long holiday weekend. Their family farm in Kentucky, Camp Hi-Ho, burned down in a fire, according to their Facebook page—which People reports is run by the actor’s brother, Blaine.

“It is with the heaviest of hearts that we confirm the news that we lost our barn last night in a horrible fire. We are deeply thankful that no people or animals were hurt, but we are still mourning the loss of years of hard work and memories that occurred in these walls,” the post reads. “Words cannot describe the pain we are in, but we are so incredibly grateful for the Simpsonville Fire Department and all the other fire fighters who responded to our emergency. You are true heroes. We are also so grateful for the countless members of our community who have reached out to support us during this time.

“Your love and kindness mean the world to us. God’s goodness and protection is evident in this situation already, and our hope remains steadfast in Him, knowing that He is with us and in control of the steps ahead,” the post continues. “We know Camp Hi-Ho is a special place to so many, and we plan to rebuild and repair so that we can move forward with a safe and joyful camp experience this summer.”

Lawrence’s mom, Karen, spoke about Camp Hi-Ho in a 2019 interview. “I began thinking about our farm in Henry County and how much the kids would love playing in the mud there because we had plenty of it. That’s kind of how it got started,” she said. “I brought my friends in to be the counselors. We moved the camp to Simpsonville later on; then we eventually sold it to Blaine when things started getting busy with Jennifer’s career.”

The place sounds pretty awesome, which makes its loss all the more sad. “Blaine has done a wonderful job with it. We have arts and crafts, horses, archery, a lake, fishing, kayaks, paddle boats, a fort and a place called Hammock City, where lots of hammocks are tied to trees, and kids can just hang out there all day and read or even daydream,” Karen continued. “There’s also a butterfly garden and a vegetable garden. There’s really something for everyone.”

Jennifer Lawrence has yet to comment, but we’re so happy that everyone is safe and hope that they will be able to rebuild soon.
