Jennifer Lawrence Shuts Down Liam Hemsworth And Miley Cyrus Cheating Rumors

Jennifer Lawrence put an end to the swirling rumors that she had an affair with Liam Hemsworth while he was still in a relationship with Miley Cyrus.

During a recent episode of Watch What Happens Live, the Oscar winner sat down with host Andy Cohen for a tell-all interview. The No Hard Feelings star categorically denied these allegations and put the gossip to rest once and for all.

Earlier this year, Cyrus released the smash-hit, self-love anthem "Flowers," which fans thought was about her divorce and split from Hemsworth. The track, after all, was released on his birthday (January 13th) and the lyrics chronicle a tumultuous breakup.

Cohen asked Lawrence during her talk show appearance this week: "When Miley Cyrus’ song ‘Flowers’ debuted, there was a lot of talk that the music video was referencing a secret fling that you had with Liam Hemsworth while he was with Miley Cyrus. Can you please respond to this?"

The Silver Linings Playbook alum replied: "I would love to, not true," while shaking her head. "Not true, total rumor."

After the music video for "Flowers" premiered months ago, some Twitter users analyzed Cyrus' wardrobe, taking a closer look at Easter eggs and potential clues as to its meaning and themes.

Some of Cyrus' devotees even dug up a 2015 video of Lawrence confessing to kissing her Hunger Games co-star Hemsworth off-camera (while rumors of Hemsworth’s infidelity with other women during his relationship with Cyrus trended online).

Lawrence mentioned this again when speaking to Cohen: "I mean we all know me and Liam kissed one time, it was years after they broke up, so I just assume that was like a coincidence." She then laughed and asked the audience: "Are you satisfied?"

In the "Flowers" video, Cyrus rocks a gold Saint Laurent dress, which some fans noted is strikingly similar to the gold Prabal Gurung gown that Lawrence wore beside Hemsworth at the 2012 Los Angeles premiere of the first Hunger Games film.

According to Lawrence, however, this is a stretch, as she adamantly denied ever being romantically involved with Hemsworth when he was with Cyrus.

Cyrus and Hemsworth famously met in June 2009 on the set of The Last Song and began dating soon after. They reportedly split (according to E!) for the first time in August 2010, got back together in September of that year, broke up again in November, and reunited once more in April of 2011.

In March of 2012, engagement rumors began swirling. Hemsworth officially confirmed to have proposed in June of that year, and in September of 2013, they called off their engagement.

The rollercoaster ride continued when the couple confirmed they got back together and reignited their engagement (again!) in October of 2016, and they finally tied the knot in December 2018.

Sadly, the two broke up in August of 2019 and Hemsworth filed for divorce.
