Jennifer Lawrence’s New ‘Red Sparrow’ Trailer Is Sexy-Spy-Thriller-Meets–‘Black Swan’ (and We Love It)
Espionage, double agents, murder, sex and plenty of wigs—the new Red Sparrow trailer starring Jennifer Lawrence has a bit of everything.
J. Law plays Dominika Egorova, a former ballerina who was all but coerced into becoming a highly trained Russian assassin known as a “sparrow.” Though her line of work means taking whatever means necessary to eliminate the enemy, it becomes clear the spy life is not what she wants for herself—especially after falling for a CIA agent (Joel Edgerton)...or maybe she’s playing him? The suspense is already killing us.
The film also stars Matthias Schoenaerts, Mary-Louise Parker, Jeremy Irons, Ciarán Hinds and Joely Richardson.
Red Sparrow marks Lawrence’s first collaboration with director Francis Lawrence since their Hunger Games films. It hits theaters March 2.
