This photo opportunity marked a full-circle moment for the Lawrence family. When The Hunger Games alum was a teenager, she was approached by a modeling scout in New York City, who kickstarted her career as a model and actress. Shortly after, her mom moved with her to the city, where they lived in a midtown apartment for a year.

In a 2012 Rolling Stone profile, Karen shared the reaction she received to her decision to leave their life in Kentucky so that her daughter could start her career.

"It might as well have been a different planet. Our friends thought we were nuts. We thought we were nuts. But her brothers told us, 'This is her baseball diamond. You've gotta let her play," she recalled.

Karen added, "We thought she'd go out to New York, and they'd say, 'Don't let the door hit you on the way out.' If it wasn't for her agent literally almost choking me, saying, 'You don't understand, I've never seen a 14-year-old like this,' we might not have made it."

Her new comedy hits theaters on Friday, June 23.
