Jennifer Lawrence Is Not Here for Critics of Her ‘Red Sparrow' Versace Dress

Jennifer Lawrence is not one to shy away from speaking her mind. It’s one of the things we love most about her, in fact.

And today, she’s giving the internet an earful about what she says is a totally made up controversy.

Here’s the deal: Yesterday, while doing press for her latest movie, Red Sparrow, J.Law, her costars and the film’s director posed for photos in London. All four men in the photo are bundled up in jackets, while Lawrence steals the show (in our humble opinion) in a plunging black dress by Versace.

The photo quickly went viral as people opined that this was just another example of inequality in the entertainment industry.

Lawrence, though, would beg to differ. In a post on her Facebook page, the actress shut down her critics, saying that no, it’s not a man-woman thing; it’s a fashion thing.

“That Versace dress was fabulous, you think I’m going to cover that gorgeous dress up with a coat and a scarf?,” she wrote. “I was outside for 5 minutes. I would have stood in the snow for that dress because I love fashion and that was my choice.”

Now that that’s settled, can we please just let the woman enjoy her bonkers beautiful dress in peace?
