Jennifer Lawrence and Cooke Maroney are the definition of a New York power couple; She's an Oscar-winning actress; He's an art gallery director. And while they're notoriously private about their relationship, they do let their cool, coordinating outfits do the talking during their many strolls in Manhattan.

In addition to communicating through their couple's style, every once in a while, Lawrence will share cute tidbits about their romance with the media. On Cat Sadler's podcast in 2019, she gushed about being engaged, telling the television host that Maroney is "the greatest human being I've ever met."

June 2018: Jennifer Lawrence and Cooke Maroney start dating.

Lawrence and Maroney initially met through a mutual friend in spring 2018, and soon after, they quietly started dating. They kept their budding relationship out of the spotlight as much as possible, keeping a low profile and dodging the paparazzi when stepping out for their NYC date nights.

Later, Lawrence revealed that the mutual friend who introduced them is Gene Stupnitsky, the director and cowriter of Lawrence's latest film, No Hard Feelings. “I’ve known Gene for over a decade,” she told Cameron Diaz during her Interview cover story in June 2023. “He introduced me to my husband. He’s a fountain of hilarity.”

February 2019: Jennifer Lawrence and Cooke Maroney become engaged.

After less than a year of dating, it was reported that Lawrence and Maroney were engaged. A rep for the actress confirmed the exciting news after Lawrence was spotted wearing a stunning diamond ring while at dinner with Maroney in New York City.

Several months into their engagement, Lawrence spoke about her fiancé for the first time with Entertainment Tonight. "Well, he's just the best person I've ever met in my whole life," she told the outlet at the time, adding that it was "a very, very easy decision" to say "yes" when he proposed.

October 2019: Jennifer Lawrence and Cooke Maroney get married in Rhode Island.

On October 19, 2019, wedding bells officially rang for Lawrence and Maroney, who jetted off to Newport, Rhode Island for their lavish wedding at The Belcourt. It was a star-studded affair with celebrity guests that included Adele, Emma Stone, Amy Schumer, Kris Jenner, Corey Gamble, Ashley Olsen, Nicole Richie, Joel Madden, Cameron Diaz, Benji Madden, Sienna Miller, and more.

May 2021: Jennifer Lawrence and Cooke Maroney step out in essentially the same outfit.

Lawrence and Cooke took couple's coordination to the next level when they stepped out for a daytime date in outfits so similar, they must've been planned. Cooke, for his part, wore a white T-shirt, khaki pants, white sneakers, and a gold chain, while Jennifer opted for the same exact stylings — with the exception of her tee being cropped.

September 2021: Jennifer Lawrence and Cooke Maroney expect their first child.

In September 2021, Lawrence's rep confirmed that the couple was expecting their first child together. A few months later, the actress made her first red carpet appearance since announcing the happy news at the premiere of her Netflix film Don't Look Up. For the occasion, she debuted her bump in a fringed gold beaded gown by Dior that featured sheer, cape-like sleeves that flowed down to the floor.

November 2021: Jennifer Lawrence opens up about married life with Cooke Maroney.

During an interview with Vanity Fair, Lawrence got candid about being a wife and her favorite part about marriage. “I really enjoy going to the grocery store with him,” Lawrence told the magazine. “I don’t know why, but it fills me with a lot of joy. I think maybe because it’s almost a metaphor for marriage. ‘Okay, we’ve got this list. These are the things we need. Let’s work together and get this done.’"

April 2022: Jennifer Lawrence and Cooke Maroney welcome a baby boy.

It was reported that Lawrence and Maroney's first chid had arrived in April 2022, after the pair was spotted out on a walk with their baby. No further details were given by the couple until Lawrence sat down with Vogue for their October cover story, revealing that she's officially a mom to a son named Cy.

September 2022: Jennifer Lawrence reveals her son's name is a tribute to one of Maroney's favorite artists.

In the same Vogue interview, Lawrence told the magazine that her son was named after the postwar American painter Cy Twombly, one of Maroney's favorite artists.

August 2023: Jennifer Lawrence and Cooke Maroney wear coordinating outfits again.

Continuing to color-coordinate their outfits wherever they go, Lawrence and Maroney were photographed on a PDA-filled walk near Central Park during the summer. Both wore white tops, dark trousers, and black sunglasses for the occasion.
