Jennifer Garner Shows Fans How to Bake Her 'Indestructible' Pumpkin Bread

As if Jennifer Garner isn't busy enough balancing life as a mom for her three children with a career in showbiz, she's now filming her own "Pretend Cooking Show" and revealing some of her favorite recipes. Most recently, the "Alias" star showed off a recipe for pumpkin bread, which she says is easy enough for her kids, Violet, Seraphina and Samuel Affleck, to make on their own.

"This is my favorite make with kids recipe—you don’t even need a mixer. My kids are big enough to make it without me, so I’ll imagine you making it with yours. P.S. it is irresistible and indestructible, freezes well, and makes everyone happy."

Ingredients

Garner started her video off bright and early at 5:37 AM, telling fans, "Good morning. I just woke up. I'm going to make some pumpkin bread."

She added, "It's my favorite pumpkin bread recipe." Garner listed the ingredients for her bread, and was seen literally tearing into them with her teeth while preparing.

"Ingredients (after I cut it down to one loaf)":

Rounded 1/2 cup pumpkin puree

1 egg + 1 Tbsp egg 🤗

3 1/2 Tbsp water

1/3 cup vegetable oil

1 cup sugar

1 cup flour

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1/2 tsp nutmeg

1/4 tsp ground cloves

1/8 tsp ginger

Directions

After working through the calculations, the ex-wife of Ben Affleck got to work on combining the ingredients, mixing and pouring.

Garner explained that she likes the recipe because it's "indestructible," but is worried she may screw it up. After getting the taste down, it's popped into the oven.

Directions

"Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease a loaf pan.

In a large bowl, mix together pumpkin puree, egg(s), oil, water and sugar until well combined.

In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and ginger.

Stir the dry ingredients into the pumpkin mixture until just blended.

Pour into prepared loaf pan.

Bake for about 50 minutes, until a toothpick (or knife 🔪🙋🏻‍♀️😬) comes out clean.

Yum."

Success!

While the pumpkin bread did its thing in the oven, Garner entertained herself with some arts & crafts and even placed a quick call to her mom. Then the moment of truth, Garner took her bread out of the oven and checked it with a knife. After passing the test she attempted the dreaded flip, and successfully dislodged the bread from the pan. A bottom portion of the bread remained stuck to the pan, but Garner let it know, "you're still beautiful." She admitted that maybe it should have cooled a little longer.

A quick dusting of powdered sugar and it was ready to be eaten!
