Jennifer Garner says she’s not interested in dating after her split from Ben Affleck

Friends have been trying to play matchmaker for actress Jennifer Garner, and she is simply not having it. Garner says she’s not interested in dating — and we completely understand.

Garner separated from her husband of 10 years, Ben Affleck, in June 2015. Since then, she hasn’t felt the need to step back into the dating pool. She said to News.com.au,

“I haven’t been on a date and I am not interested in dating. People want to set me up and I am just like, ‘No thank you!'”

The Dallas Buyers Club actress candidly admitted that she and her children are still adjusting to their new life post-separation. After officially filing for divorce in February of 2017, she and Affleck are currently coparenting Violet, 11, Seraphina, 8, and Sam, 5. Garner said she wouldn’t have chosen this life for herself or for her kids, but said, “It’s something that we are working through.”

Affleck is on the growing list of men in Hollywood accused of sexual misconduct. In early October, One Tree Hill’s Hilarie Burton accused Affleck of groping her during an episode of TRL.

“Things have to come out in the open in order to be dealt with, and this is definitely one of those times,” Garner said regarding the masses of sexual assault allegations that have shaken Hollywood. “It’s messy, it’s not pretty, but a wound when it’s healing is a horrible thing to look at and to be around.”

However, Garner also noted that, “we can’t lump all men into [the same category],” and assume that every man is guilty of something. She added, “due process is important and has to take place,” but she’s thrilled to see “really smart people asking tough questions.”

“I feel excited to see what the outcome will be,” Garner said.

I'll be looking for one of these today. #icrackmyselfup

Garner hopes that a new narrative will stem from this historical moment.

“We need to be talking about how to educate and protect our young women and how women can do a better job of standing together. Women need to be there for each other so that we’re a more of a force,” she continued.”When you are siphoned off or siphoned off by yourself, you’re not that scary. Except for me. I am pretty scary,” she joked.

On that note, we’re completely here for Garner’s decision to stay single right now and focus on herself and her family. Ignore all that nosy matchmaking and keep doing you!
