Jennifer Garner and Mark Ruffalo were pure rom-com magic in 2004's 13 Going on 30, but the world was nearly deprived of their glorious onscreen chemistry, the actress recently revealed.

During an interview for theSkimm in March, Garner revealed that Ruffalo was on the verge of quitting the project after the first dance rehearsal for the film's iconic "Thriller" dance sequence.

"Our first rehearsal, I think it was Mark and Judy [Greer] and me, and Judy and I were both dancers growing up and poor Mark didn't know that," Garner explained. "And he came in and he hated the rehearsal process so much he almost dropped out."

Ruffalo actually weighed in on this behind-the-scenes story on Instagram, in the comments of a post People shared about Garner's recent interview. Comments by Celebs captured the 53-year-old actor's comments for posterity:

"It didn’t help that it took me 3 hours to learn what Jen mastered in about 20 minutes! 😆😂😆," Ruffalo wrote. "Matty had to be dragged out on that dance floor as well, poor guy. But all this time later he is grateful he did!"

Garner and Ruffalo are reuniting onscreen as love interests in the upcoming Netflix sci-fi film The Adam Project and their history working together on 13 Going on 30 seems to be coming into play.

"It was wonderful," Garner said recently of working with Ruffalo again on the new project (per Entertainment Tonight). "We were playing a married couple and we just had this instant comfort and obviously there's just such a connection and a warmth. It was actually a really beautiful experience to revisit that relationship."
