If you've ever tuned into Jennifer Garner's "Pretend Cooking Show," you know it's a delightful mix of great recipes and charming, relatable humor. Despite the “pretend” title, she really does prepare some mouthwatering dishes for her family alongside authentic and amusing commentary. So whenever Garner is posting cooking content, we try to pay attention—especially when it includes one of our favorite celeb chefs, Ina Garten.

Recently, Garner took to her Instagram stories to share a remake of Garten’s Honey White Bread recipe. This reliably good and easy bread is one of Garner’s top favorite Ina recipes to make—and one that she sometimes turns into “bread men” for her kids, the way her mom used to do for her. This time around, however, she added a perfect seasonal twist—cinnamon.

After dividing the dough in half, she turned one portion into a cinnamon swirl-style bread, similar in look to our gorgeous Cinnamon-Raisin Babka. To mimic Garner’s cinnamon riff, we'd recommend combining a mixture of cinnamon and light brown sugar or granulated sugar in a bowl. Then, after the first rise, sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the dough before shaping it into a loaf. For something a little more luxe, you can also brush the dough with a couple of tablespoons of melted butter before sprinkling the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the top. Either way, it promises to give all the holiday vibes.

Ina was totally on board for Jen’s twist, too. She shared Garner’s Instagram story on her own account—and you know if Ina approves, it’s going to be good! Just looking at its soft crumb and swirly top reminds us of the nostalgia of a warm, cozy kitchen and the accompanying feelings of comfort. We’ll definitely be adding this recipe as a last-minute baking project for the holidays, and we can already imagine the scent of cinnamon filling our kitchens—delicious!

If you want to re-create this Garner-Garten mashup yourself, you can find Ina’s Honey White Bread recipe in her book The Barefoot Contessa At Home. Bonus: It has the added benefit of being made with common pantry staples, so you likely won’t need to go shopping before baking up a loaf. We can’t wait to see what Garner shares from her kitchen next!
