As someone whose intrusive thoughts have them dyeing their hair every other month (I know, I know, shoot me!), I feel Jennifer Garner's pain when she urges the need to freshen up her locks – after all, she did say that "it's been a year, at least"...

In the actor's most recent Instagram post, she shared the process of dyeing her 'beurre brunette' multi-tonal locks. Aka, up-keeping her luxurious, subtle-looking highlights.

"For someone who loves fresh hair colour, I sure put off trips to the salon. If you, too, are a walking contradiction, please meet @virtuelabs ColorKick duo!" she wrote in the caption of her post.

Sharing more information about the products used, Jen said: "Besties to your highlights, MVPs of lowlights—Colorkick Illuminating Mask and De-Brasssing Shampoo keep your hair colour brighter, healthier and more vibrant in between colour appointments. They are both powered by Virtue’s patented Alpha Keratin 60ku technology— it’s the breakthrough biotech for your shiniest, most luminous colour yet! 💁🏻♀️"

Now, as convinced are we are by Jennifer and the results shown in the video, we must note that the star is affiliated with and an ambassador of the brand Virtue.

Having said that, if we're talking personal recs, I must add that I, too, am a big fan of the Virtue Colorkick Illuminating Mask. And while Jen uses it to de-brass her lighter tones, it also works wonders on my dark hair!

I use a small scoop of the putty-textured formula (for ref, it's so bouncy?!) all over my locks once a week to not only prevent my colour from dulling and drying out but to help strengthen my weakened damaged tresses with its keratin formulation.

FYI: Keratin is a structural protein used in many haircare formulas. It smooths the hair's cuticle which not only gives the appearance of healthier-looking locks but also strengthens and reduces breakage in the long term.

So, if it's good enough for Jen and me, what are ya waiting for? Dyed-hair friends, keratin-based treatments are calling your names!
