The Bidens hosted French President Emmanuel Macron and French First Lady Brigitte Macron for a state dinner last night, and the event was particularly celeb-filled. Jennifer Garner attended and brought along a plus one: her 17-year-old daughter Violet Affleck, who looks strikingly like her. Both wore black dresses, Violet in a sleeveless, A-line dress by Carolina Herrera with statement red heels. She wore her hair up in a bun.

Garner opted for a sleek black column dress by Ralph Lauren, Stuart Weitzman shoes, and wore her lob-length hair down in waves. Photos of the two of them together are particularly sweet, with Garner beaming at her oldest child as they hold hands entering. Dec. 1 is also Violet's birthday, making it an extra poignant night.

It was Violet's first time at a state dinner. Garner hasn't shared much about her three children, opting to protect her family's privacy.

But Jennifer Lopez, the new wife of Garner's ex-husband Ben Affleck, had glowing things to say about Garner and the blending of their two families in her recent Vogue interview.

Garner is “an amazing co-parent, and they work really well together,” Lopez said. As for blending the families, Lopez shared, “The transition is a process that needs to be handled with so much care. They have so many feelings. They’re teens. But it’s going really well so far. What I hope to cultivate with our family is that his kids have a new ally in me and my kids have a new ally in him, someone who really loves and cares about them but can have a different perspective and help me see things that I can’t see with my kids because I’m so emotionally tied up.”
