  • Jennifer Garner shared a childhood throwback photo in honor of kids returning to school after summer break.

  • “Happy back to school, everyone, from kindergarten Jen,” she wrote.

  • Fans loved the adorable snap.

Most schools are back in session as of this week, and to celebrate, Jennifer Garner took a trip down memory lane with an adorable throwback photo that fans are loving. In the sepia-toned snap, a kindergarten-age Garner flashes a precious baby-toothed smile.

“Happy back to school, everyone, from kindergarten Jen in her homemade and hand-embroidered jumper. Featuring a necklace earned by practicing piano,” she captioned the post, referring to her flower-embellished top and Peter Pan collar accessorized by a heart-shaped charm necklace. “Congratulations, Mamas,” she continued. “And 😭😭 they’re so big.”

Garner has three children with ex-husband Ben Affleck: Violet Anne, 17, Seraphina Rose, 13, and Samuel, 11.

Fans appreciated the post’s sentiment but were mostly in awe of baby Garner’s wholesome charm—the exact vibe you would expect from a younger version of America’s sweetheart. “We would have played some serious jump rope together,” one person commented. “Precious! You wore the Dorothy [Hamill] haircut well 🥰,” another added. “Sooo darn cute! ❤️,” someone else wrote.

Garner continuously makes her passion for childhood clear, not just on Instagram but with how she lives her life—the actress has starred in plenty of beloved family films, including Yes Day and The Adam Project, and she helps children get the nutrients they need with her organic snack pouch company, Once Upon a Farm.

In fact, she recently shared a video from the spinach fields of the brand’s suppliers, kids’ lunchbox in hand. “This is how I pack a lunch,” she said, attempting to squeeze a whole pineapple, dragonfruit, banana, and handful of fresh-picked spinach into the soft-sided box. After failing to zip it up, she pulled a Once Upon a Farm Immunity Blend pouch (featuring those same ingredients) from underneath it—a much more compact way to fill up.

In another clip, she touted all the nutritional benefits of spinach. “Good for your baby, good for your kid, good for you,” she said.

If we didn’t have the privilege of getting to know little Jen (because she started acting after college), at least we get to see her passion for little ones unfold in ways that give back. Something tells us that diligent, piano-learning kindergartener would be proud.
